GENEVA - A conference to strengthen the Bosnian peace process failed yesterday to win the removal of the Bosnian Serb leader, Dr Radovan Karadzic. However, the three Balkan presidents pledged commitment to Bosnia wide elections, diplomats said.
At talks attended by members of the contact group on Bosnia and the US Secretary of State, Mr Warren Christopher, the Serbian President, Mr Slobodan Milosevic, agreed to sideline Dr Karadzic, but stopped short of bowing to international pressure to oust him.
