The accident happened in Chongqing in the early morning when the bus was crossing a bridge between two mountain tunnels, the Xinhua news agency said.

China has the world's highest annual road death toll. Traffic accidents killed nearly 107,000 people last year, the result of soaring car demand, poor roads and bad driving.
