Telecom equipment giant Motorola has said it has signed a 150 million-dollar deal to expand the network of UK mobile phone operator, BT Cellnet.

The US company's global telecom solutions sector will supply base stations and related equipment and services for the duration of the contract, which runs until March 2003

BT Cellnet, a subsidiary of British Telecom, has 11.2 million customers, 1.5 million of whom are able to surf the web using their mobile phones.
