Motorcyclist killed in Westmeath collision

A motorcyclist in his 20s was killed in a collision with a lorry in Co Westmeath this evening.

A motorcyclist in his 20s was killed in a collision with a lorry in Co Westmeath this evening.

The crash took place at around 5pm on the N6 at Gneevebawn, Tyrellspass.

Gardaí have sealed off part of the road and have warned of delays.

Gardaí have also appealed to motorists to slow down and driver carefully in the Midlands, where road conditions are said to be very poor due to heavy rain.

A number of minor collisions have been reported already this afternoon, gardai said.
