A three-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital this evening after being involved in a crash in west Dublin in which a motorcyclist was killed.

The child's mother and six-year-old brother were treated in hospital and later discharged after the crash on the Coolmine Road at 8.15 am.

The three-year-old who was being pushed in a buggy by her mother is in a critical condition in Beaumont after being tranferred there this afternoon from Temple Street Children's Hospital.

The woman was treated at Blanchardstown Hospital along with her young son but were later released.

The motorcyclist crashed into the trio outside Coolmine railway station. He was named this evening as Derek Delaney (37) from Coolmine Park, Clonsilla.
