A woman in her 20s and her eight year-old son have escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack on their home in Bangor, Co Down, last night.

The attack happened at around 9pm when a petrol bomb was thrown at the front of the house in Ballyminetaragh Gardens in the Bloomfield area of Bangor.

The device caused smoke damage to the living room and the outside wall.
