A man who was reported missing by his family in Co Meath on Monday was found later that day to have been the victim of a fatal car crash.

Mr Patrick Hickey (55), from Rackenstown, Ratoath, died after his car plunged into a ditch on the Ratoath-Dunshaughlin road some time after midnight on Sunday.

The Opel Vectra car remained hidden from view and was not discovered until 8.30 p.m. on Monday, more than 20 hours after the accident is believed to have happened.
