Three German tourists who were reported missing on the Shannon were found safe yesterday morning

Three German tourists who were reported missing on the Shannon were found safe yesterday morning. Two of the men, believed to be in their late 20s, were found in Meelick Harbour, six miles north of Portumna. The other man was located in a bed-and-breakfast in Portumna.

The men were in a cabin cruiser that went aground on rocks on Lough Derg. They travelled in a dinghy towards Portumna. They were reported missing early on Monday morning.
