A UNIQUE millennium clock in the River Liffey will be switched on tomorrow night during a fireworks display to be broadcast live on RTE.
The underwater nine digit timepiece is anchored just beneath the surface of the river, upstream from O'Connell Bridge. It will tick off the seconds to the year 2000. Passers by will be able to purchase postcards from a dispenser on the bridge, showing the number of seconds left to the millennium.
The Minister for Finance, Mr Quinn, will start the clock at 10 p.m.
