Microsoft said tonight its quarterly profit and revenue rose on stronger demand for personal computers as well as healthy sales in its video games business.
The company, based in Redmond, Washington, reported a net profit of $3.46 billion, or 32 cents per share, for its fiscal second quarter ended in December, compared with a profit of $1.55 billion, or 14 cents per share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose to $10.82 billion from $10.15 billion a year earlier.
