Merrion Pharmaceuticals said today it bought a new facility in Citywest, Dublin, to allow it significantly expand its research and development capabilities.

The company paid €3.75 million for the building, made up of €900,000 cash and €2.85m in secured borrowings.

Chief executive John Lynch said the company had been expanding rapidly over the last 12 months and needed additional research and development space.
