Men beaten in NI racist attack

Two Polish men were kicked and beaten during a racist assault by a gang who forced their way into their home in Co Derry.

Two Polish men were kicked and beaten during a racist assault by a gang who forced their way into their home in Co Derry.

The victims had returned from a barbecue near their home in the Moneydig area of Garvagh when the gang of five men forced their way inside.

They were pushed to the floor and assaulted during the attack in the early hours of this morning.

They were taken to hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

One of their attackers is believed to have been around 40 years old, with shoulder length silver hair and was around 5'6" tall.

The gang also used a white Citroen van to make their getaway.

Police today appealed to anyone with information about the attack to help their investigation.
