LONDON - A British navy veteran, Mr Robert Farnshaw is to have his name removed from a war memorial - because he is alive and well and living in Perth, Australia. It was thought that Mr Farnshaw (83) died when HMS Saivia was sunk by a German E boat off Egypt in 1941 and his name was included on the memorial in Southsea, Hampshire. But he had been taken off the ship for hospital treatment before the corvette was sunk on Christmas Eve.
