Swimming:Sycerika McMahon secured her second final spot at the European Swimming Championships in Debrecen, Hungary this afternoon after claiming a place in tomorrow's 50 metres breaststroke decider.
The 17-year-old Leander swimmer is ranked number two in the final after recording a time of 31.51 in her semi-final today. She finished fifth in the 100m breaststroke final on Tuesday.
Fiona Doyle also swam this morning’s heats but missed out on a semi-final spot after finishing in 33.46.
The last day of the competition will see Ireland’s 4x100m medley relay team of
McMahon, Doyle, Bethany Carson and Melanie Nocher in action in the morning’s heats before McMahon’s final in the afternoon.
The competition has been Swim Ireland’s most successful European Championships to date, with three final and seven semi-final swims so far.
