Tyrone's joint-managers Eugene McKenna and Art McRory are to remain in charge for at least another year.

Speculation had been rife in the county that the pair would tender their resignations in the wake of Tyrone’s championship exit at the hands of Sligo.

However, the duo have expressed their desire to stay to the county board and after a meeting last night, it was confirmed both McKenna and McRory would be in charge next year.

Meanwhile, former Kildare player Mick Condon was last night named as the new Carlow football manager. Condon has experience of managing the Moorefield club side in Kildare but this will be his first inter-county role. Condon, who was appointed on a two-year deal, has yet to discover who his selectors will be.
