Martin McElkennon has stepped down as manager of the Cavan after a year in charge.

Martin McElkennon has stepped down as manager of the Cavan after a year in charge.

McElkennon joined the Breffni side as Eamonn Coleman's assistant three years ago after playing a similar role in Fermanagh.

He was appointed manager last year after following Coleman's decision to stand down because of illness.

Cavan are now looking for their sixth manager in nine years.
