Tony McCoy has decided not to appeal against the seven-day ban he picked up at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

The champion jockey had been mulling over his options after the Prestbury Park stewards found him guilty of careless riding on third-placed Gotno Destination in the EBF 'Junior' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race.

However, McCoy's personal assistant Gee Bradburne confirmed today: "He is not going to appeal against the ban."

McCoy will be out of action on January 12th to 15th and January 17th to 19th, ruling him out of big weekend cards at Kempton Park and Warwick.
