Paris - Paris Mayor Jean Tiberi believes France's fractured right must pull itself together to prevent the left taking control of the capital in next week's municipal elections. "Otherwise, it would be collective suicide," he said.
Pollsters predict a socialist-led coalition is cruising towards victory in the ballot, which is being held in two rounds on March 11th and March 18th. The right's reelection campaign has been riven from the start by bitter infighting, which has seen Mr Tiberi thrown out of his Rally for the Republic (RPR) party because of corruption charges levelled against him and his administration.
