The helpline, manned by 12 counsellors from the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, has been in operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the past two days. It resumes on Monday.
Set up to offer assistance to students who received their Leaving Certificate results last Tuesday, it has been inundated with calls.
Forty per cent was from students themselves, with most inquiring about the possibility of having papers rechecked, how to appeal marks and whether they should repeat their exams.
Counsellors also reported a significant number of calls from students who had failed maths and others interested in a career in primary teaching.
