Cycling:Ireland's Daniel Martin came home in the leading bunch sprint to hold on to win the Tour of Poland after the seventh and final stage in Krakow today.

The 23-year-old, a cousin of Nicolas Roche, had earned the yellow jersey after stage five, moving up from 23rd position after an aggressive ride on the mountain stage in Ustron.

Grega Bole of Slovenia had eaten into Martin’s lead on the penultimate stage, but despite poor weather and course conditions there was to be real alarms for the Garmin Transitions rider as he crossed the line in 29th position today, with the same time as stage winner Andre Griepel.
