Algiers - A powerful bomb in the open-air Bab El Ouad market in the centre of the Algerian capital yesterday killed at least 17 people and injured dozens, security officials and witnesses said.
"According to a new count by the security forces after the explosion, 17 were killed and 61 injured, seven in critical condition," the official APS news agency announced.
