A judge yesterday ruled in favour of those who want a centuries old market kept in its location

A judge yesterday ruled in favour of those who want a centuries old market kept in its location. At a special sitting of Ballinasloe District Court, Judge Michael Connellan allowed the appeal of those objecting to new casual trading by-laws passed some time ago by the town's urban council. The laws would have resulted in the market being taken out of St Michael's Square and relocated in a car-park.
