London - The former South African president, Mr Nelson Mandela, may address this year's Labour Party Conference, it emerged yesterday. A party spokesman confirmed that an invitation had been sent to the veteran statesman who is a hero to many Labour activists for his long struggle against apartheid.
The Sunday Telegraph quoted a spokesman for the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg as saying that he had accepted.
