Soccer:Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez will miss Saturday's Premier League trip to Wolves with a thigh injury, while his manager Roberto Mancini is ready to ask Argentina to use the star striker less frequently.
Tevez suffered a dead leg during the loss to Arsenal last Sunday and was forced off early in the second half. Mancini had hoped the Argentinian would be fit to feature at Molineux but the game will come too soon.
Yet City do not consider the injury to be serious and expect the 26-year-old to be back in training next week. The club also confirmed Tevez has been given permission to travel to Argentina to visit his family but he will report back on Monday.
It is understood that Mancini has also given Tevez permission to fly home to Argentina in order to aid his recovery from a thigh problem.
City are hopeful Tevez will be fit to face rivals Manchester United the following week, but the striker is due to link up with Argentina in Qatar next month, when they will face Brazil.
"International football is a problem for Carlos. Argentina don't play games in Europe but in South America, Japan or Australia and this makes it difficult for him," said Mancini.
"He arrived back from the last international break tired. He needs time to recover. Argentina have a friendly against Brazil in November, but I hope for that game he can stay here. It would be better for him and his country."
Mancini also responded to reports that Tevez could quit City sooner than expected in order to return home to Argentina.
He added: "I don't know whether he will stay here for the next 10 years or return to Argentina then, but I'm not worried by it at the moment."
