Man still held over Northern Bank robbery

Police in Belfast were granted permission last night to continue questioning a man arrested in connection with the £26

Police in Belfast were granted permission last night to continue questioning a man arrested in connection with the £26.5 robbery of the Northern Bank last December.

The man (24) was arrested on Tuesday morning.

His initial period of detention has been extended from 48 hours. He can now be held for an additional three days.

A 22-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the robbery was released last night without charge.
