Man stabbed at Christmas party in Co Meath

A man was seriously injured early this morning after he was stabbed at a Christmas party in Co Meath.

A man was seriously injured early this morning after he was stabbed at a Christmas party in Co Meath.

The man, a Latvian national in his early 40s, was stabbed a number of times during a fight at the function in the Old Mill Hotel, Julianstown at 1.15am.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co Louth where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and gardaí from Laytown, Co Meath, are conducting investigations.

No arrests have been made so far.
