Gardai in Tallaght, Dublin are investigating the shooting of a man at Fortunestown Lane last night.
The man, who is in his 20s and from the locality, was walking with his friend at the rear of the credit union building near Jobstown when the incident took place at about 11.15 p.m.
It is believed he was hit in the back by a single shot, which was fired from a moving car. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was said to be in a "serious" condition in intensive care early today.
