Man shot in legs in Dublin attack

A man was seriously injured in a shooting in Inchicore, south Dublin last night.

A man was seriously injured in a shooting in Inchicore, south Dublin last night.

A Garda spokesman said two men pushed their way past their victim's wife when she opened the door to the house on Ring Street shortly before 10.30pm.

They ordered the occupants of the house to lie on the floor before singling out their victim and shooting him in the legs in front of his family.

The man (48) was taken to St James's Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery last night. His condition is not understood to be life-threatening.

Gardaí have issued a description of the two attackers. One is said to be 6ft, 6in inches tall. He was of slim build and was wearing dark clothes and a luminous green or yellow scarf wrapped around his face.

The second man was around 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothing.
