A man is recovering in hospital in Belfast this morning after being shot three times in what police described as a "paramilitary-style" assault.

The 22-year-old victim was shot in the left leg in the attack, which took place near Whitecliff Drive at around 10 pm. He suffered a broken leg as a result.

There were no arrests.
