An 18-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after a fight between rival youths in west Belfast, police have said.

An 18-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after a fight between rival youths in west Belfast, police have said.

Detectives are appealing for information after the shooting incident in the Stewartstown Road area.

Detectives said they had yet to establish the full details of the shooting and have appealed for information.

Two 17-year-old males and a 16-year-old male were injured during the fight. Two of them were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police said: "During the incident a firearm was produced and a shot fired."

The wounded 18-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.
