A 23-year-old man remains in a critical condition in a Sligo hospital this evening following a gun attack in the town last night.
The victim was shot at least twice after answering his front door in the Cranmore area shortly after 11pm.
A garda investigation has been launched and the scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination.
Gardaí have said they are following a number of lines of inquiry into the shooting and have appealed for anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
