Man seriously hurt in Cavan pub row

A man in his 20s was in a serious condition in hospital today after a row broke out at a pub in Co Cavan.

A man in his 20s was in a serious condition in hospital today after a row broke out at a pub in Co Cavan.

Gardai found the man lying unconscious outside the bar near the town of Virginia at around 3am.

He was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital and later removed to Beamount Hospital with serious head injuries.

It is understood a row broke out during a function at the pub in Lisgrey. Gardai have appealed for anyone who was at the bar or who witnessed the attack to contact them on 042 9694570.
