A Tipperary man has been credited with saving the lives of two children in a house fire in Thurles yesterday afternoon.
The children were trapped when a fire broke out in a house in Mitchel Street at around 4.30pm.
Francis Delaney, who was nearby when the fire broke out, kicked in the back door, crawled into the kitchen and gave the children instructions to leave the house.
The children, aged three and four years old, were brought to Nenagh hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
