Man remanded over forged credit cards

A man was today remanded in custody by the Dublin District Court after being charged with four counts of possession of counterfeit credit cards.

Mr Mohamed Salem (35), with an address in the Thomas Clarke Tower, Ballymun, Dublin, was arrested at the Airways Industrial Estate on the Swords Road yesterday at 10.40 a.m. under section 28 of the Larceny Act.

He was charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at 10.35 p.m. last night.

Mr Salem did not seek bail and was remanded by Judge Miriam Malone to Cloverhill Prison and ordered to appear before the District Court there at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday May 16th.

The Court heard Mr Salem is in receipt of social welfare and was applying for legal aid.
