A 41 year-old UK and Nigerian passport holder has been remanded in custody after he appeared in court today charged in connection with a €500,000 drugs seizure by customs officials at Cork Airport yesterday.

Tony Ladipo with an address at 7 Bamburg House, Park Lane, Tottenham, London was charged with possession and possession for sale or supply of cocaine at Cork Airport.

He was granted free legal aid but his solicitor made no application for bail at this stage and Judge David Riordan remanded him in custody at Cork Prison to appear again at Cork District Court tomorrow.
