A 43-year-old man arrested in connection with the dissident republican murders of two British soldiers outside a Co Antrim army base in March has been released without charge.

The man was arrested in west Belfast yesterday morning and was questioned over the killings of Sappers Patrick Azimkar (21) from London, and Mark Quinsey (23) from Birmingham.

The men were shot dead at the gates of Massereene Barracks as they collected pizza from a delivery man just before they were due to fly out to Afghanistan for a tour of duty.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the man was also arrested over the wounding of five other people - including the delivery drivers - who were shot in the incident, which was claimed by the Real IRA.
