A 19-year-old man being questioned about the murder of Emmett Shiels in Derry has been released without charge.
The man was released by the PSNI last night.
Members of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) have been blamed for shooting Mr Shiels in the early hours of Tuesday.
Hundreds attended the 22-year-old’s funeral yesterday, with mourners at St Eugene’s Cathedral including Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and SDLP leader Mark Durkan.
Mr Shiels, who police said was completely innocent, was shot on the Creggan estate in Derry after an altercation with a gang of masked men who had been set to attack somebody else.
There has been widespread condemnation of the murder, with the young victim’s partner pregnant with their first child.
Police have released CCTV footage which showed the masked men at the time of the killing.
