Gardaí are questioning a man over the shooting of Dublin criminal Martin Foley.

Gardaí are questioning a man over the shooting of Dublin criminal Martin Foley.

Mr Foley (55), also known as 'The Viper', was shot a number of times in the face and upper body as he left a gym in Kimmage in January.

A Garda spokesman said a man in his late 20s was arrested in Ballyfermot at 7am. He is being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Mr Foley, who has survived four previous shooting attempts on his life, has more than 40 convictions, some for assault, robbery and possession of threatening weapons.
