An 18-year-old man was being questioned by gardai at Roxboro station, Limerick, yesterday arising out of the shooting on Sunday night of a man while he was in a car outside his home at 9.30 p.m. The man, who was arrested at 10 am, can be held for 48 hours.

The victim, Mr Kenny Griffin (33), of Collins Avenue, Kincora Park, Limerick, was shot three times with a handgun and had a remarkable escape from death. He underwent an operation for a collapsed lung in the Regional Hospital yesterday.
