A man who made obscene phone calls to teenage girls over a period of two years has had his sentence adjourned by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

James Staunton (38), of Curlew Road, Drimnagh, Dublin, pleaded guilty to 15 charges of harassment, annoyance, inconvenience and causing needless anxiety to a number of girls by making phone calls. He made the calls on various dates between January 1997 and November 1998.

Judge Dunne adjourned sentence until December 10th to enable a neurological assessment to be carried out on Staunton.
