The PSNI is appealing for information following an armed robbery in Newry last during which a man was locked into the boot of a car.
The incident happened in the College Gardens/Violet Hill area of the town at about 10.30pm.
A male employee of a credit company was carrying out a number of calls when he was approached by two masked men at the top of an entry way in College Gardens. One of the males had a firearm in his possession and demanded money.
The two males took a sum of cash from the victimand bundled him into the backseat of his car, a grey coloured Saab 93, before driving off.
The car was abandoned a short time later in O'Reilly Park and the man was forced into the boot of the car before the two males made off.
The man was able to make his way out of the car and seek assistance. He did not sustain any injuries but was left shaken by his ordeal.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in either the area of College Gardens and Violet Hill or O'Reilly Park and has information in relation to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
