A man was killed in a road accident yesterday when his car and another vehicle collided. The accident happened at about 7.45 a.m. at Moorestown on the Clonmel to Cahir road in Co Tipperary. The man was named as Mr Liam Allen (35) from Ballylynch, Carrick on Suir, Co Tipperary. A passenger in the dead man's car and the driver of the other car were injured.
Meanwhile, in Dublin city centre a woman in her 50s was killed when she was hit by a car on Pearse Street.
