Man killed in Kildare crash

A MAN was killed and two others critically injured in a road accident in Castledermot, Co Kildare, early yesterday.

A MAN was killed and two others critically injured in a road accident in Castledermot, Co Kildare, early yesterday.

The accident occurred at about 1 a.m. on the road between Castledermot and Moone after the car hit a bridge. The dead man, who was driving the car, was named as Mr Eugene Lawlor (35), from Athy, Co Kildare. He died instantly.

The two passengers, both in their 20s, were taken to Naas Hospital. One of them was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital and the other to the Meath Hospital, Dublin.
