A man was killed near Dundalk last night when the car in which he was travelling hit a gate at Dunmahon, Co Louth. The accident happened shortly after midnight on a link road connecting the Dundalk Dublin and Dundalk Ardee routes. The man was described as being in his late twenties. His name is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
