A man (64) has been killed and a woman has been injured in a crash in Co Mayo.
The man was the driver of a car that crashed at Newpark, Swinford at around 6.00pm. There were no other vehicles involved.
The woman was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar to be treated for what a Garda spokesman described as minor injuries.
The dead man has not yet been named.
A total of 286 people have been killed on the State's roads so far this year, down from 318 in 2006.
