A postmortem is due be carried out this morning on the latest person to die on Cork roads following a single vehicle crash last night.

A man in his late 60s was killed when the car he was driving collided with a wall on the Dromboy Road in Carrignavar, Co Cork, at around 8.45pm.

The man - who is from the area - was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital for a postmortem.

Diversions are in place to allow a Garda forensic crash investigator examine the scene of the fatal collision.
