A man is recovering in hospital today after being shot in Limerick.

A man is recovering in hospital today after being shot in Limerick.

The man, who is in his 20s, was attacked near Hassett’s Cross, close to Thomond Park rugby stadium, at about 10.30pm.

He was hit in the head and upper body with a number of pellets when the car he was a passenger in was shot at.

He was taken to the Midwestern Regional Hospital where his condition is understood to be stable.

Gardaí at Mayorstone have are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
