A man has been seriously injured while foiling a post office robbery in north Dublin.
The man, who is a preacher from the Congo tackled the raider and in the struggle, they both fell through the front window of the office.
Gordon Johnson, a meat worker who was passing by, said he rang the Gardai while the Congolese man held the raider on the ground. "The guy's head was split wide open with the glass. He stayed on him. He wouldn't get off him. Fair play to him, very brave," he said.
He told RTE radio that the Congolese preacher was threatened by the raider.
"Your man said: "Get off me, I'll kill you" but he said: God is on my side, you won't kill me."
The raider, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Store Street station.
The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital with facial cuts.
