A man was injured in a shoot-out in a loyalist district of east Belfast last night

A man was injured in a shoot-out in a loyalist district of east Belfast last night. Four shots were fired at a house in Orkney street, Shankill shortly after 9.30 p.m. The RUC arrested seven men, including the injured man, at nearby Acton street. A legally held firearm was recovered.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to both ankles in a suspected republican punishment attack in west Belfast. The incident occurred at a grass area behind Woodside View, Poleglass at 9.30 p.m.
