A 21-year-old man is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court in Co Tyrone today charged with the manslaughter of Jason McGovern who suffered a double assault in Omagh on December 30th.

The man was arrested in the Omagh area yesterday morning.

An 18-year-old man also arrested yesterday morning was released unconditionally.

Jason McGovern (19) from Tydavnet, Co Monaghan, was found dead on New Year’s Eve morning in Emyvale, Co Monaghan, after he had returned from Omagh.

The PSNI said at the time that Mr McGovern was assaulted twice while visiting the Co Tyrone town with friends.
